Maggie Fuller is an intensely curious journalist and documentary filmmaker who gravitates towards purpose-driven stories that illuminate the lived experiences of others.

A Bay Area native and lifelong storyteller, Maggie earned her undergraduate degree in Development Studies from UC Berkeley. Her keen interest in travel and culture led her to a five-year stint as a digital editor at AFAR Magazine, during which time her team won two Lowell Thomas awards. She focused primarily on the intersection of adventure and environmental responsibility, and also produced a ground-breaking editorial package about travel anxiety.

An increasing interest in the different ways humans absorb information led Maggie to shift to documentary filmmaking in 2022. She returned to UC Berkeley and earned a Master’s in Journalism in 2024. Her lens is now focused on crafting and producing multi-faceted documentaries that shed light on social justice, women’s issues, and mental health. Her latest project, (M)Otherhood, offers a delicate and intimate look at the challenges faced by single mothers.
